the carwash

About my abstract image. It seems that someone was right and could recognize what it was (and that makes me happy). It is indeed the carwash.
But is was fun to read about other possibilities and fantasies. So thanks for guessing!

Abstract

I took this photo last month. But perhaps he is too abstact. So, time for a test.
What do you see or do you recognize?
I'm already very curious about your ways of seeing and imagining.

The first snow

We had our first snow this winter here in Belgium.
So some things with snow in it:

Winter sleep

Winter sleep: a fascinating thought. Preferably in a cabin in the woods (I like a place like this)
But for now we are pleased with
occasionally a nice day at home with the wood stove burning well,
dreaming of new wooden furniture like this,
walks in the forest (also wooden furniture there),

and thinking: maybe it is time to take a tree in the house (I never did before), so maybe

But one thing is certain: tomorrow I start the day with a Lumberjacks breakfast here.

Dark

Dark en long evenings. So time for a lot of reading in preparation of the art historyclass. At this moment I am reading about the dark work of Anne Wenzel.
Good night.

Marieke Pauwels

One year later and again preparing an art history class about ceramics. At the moment I am reading about the work of Belgian ceramist Marieke Pauwels.
This work (Parnassus) remains my favorite. The mountain on the turntable (the turntable of her father who is also a ceramist). And that landscape on the wall in
combination with that wallpaper, that also becomes a landscape.
Maybe I also like it because you normally do not make sculptures on a turntable but functional pots.
If you want to see the mountain moving on the turntable, look at her website.

Flower vendors

I saw them last week at the cemetery. I was attracted by these people and the caravan.

And I went back there a few days later, for a chat and some more pictures. I'm glad I did.
I amuse myself more and more with my camera. And it is so nice to get in touch with people. I hope I see them again one day.
